An exhibition of new collaborative works from Bespoke Atelier, David Ross Design, Flux Laser & CNC Studio. The new collection will consist of furniture and wall coverings inspired by maps; from the standardisation of detailed ordinance survey maps to the intriguing flowing lines evident in abstract wind maps. The designs will present the expertise of all companies. David Ross Design has continued to follow an interest in creating elegant structural birch plywood furniture, using the guidance and facilities provided by Flux Laser & CNC Studio. Bespoke Atelier are creating beautiful new designs to be screen printed onto the wood, glass and fabric of the furniture, adding richness and a greater depth to the surfaces.

Bespoke Atelier:

Bespoke Atelier is an emerging Glasgow based surface and textile design studio run by Yvonne Elliott and Marion Parola. They first met as students of the Textile Design BA at the Glasgow School of Art in 2005 and graduated with honours before taking up the Master of Design in Fashion + Textiles the following year. Yvonne and Marion spent their graduate studies perfecting the practice and continue today as Bespoke Atelier.
Winning the Deutsche Bank Award in Creative Practices in 2010 allowed them to outfit their studio with comprehensive screen-printing facilities. They started by creating custom-designed textiles and have now progressed to engineering their patterns to a variety of different surfaces and 3D objects. They create patterns to make an impact and equally to complement and enhance the surfaces on which they appear. Designing bespoke patterns for a variety of applications from architectural installations and furnishings, public art, silk scarves.

David Ross Design:

David Ross is a Glasgow based designer who graduated from the Glasgow School of Art/ University of Glasgow in 2009 with a masters degree in Product Design Engineering. In 2010 worked for Studio Libertiny in Rotterdam, during which time the studio exhibited in Switzerland as part of Design Miami/Basel 2010. In 2011 set-up David Ross Design and was an awardee of the 2011 Starter for 6 programme. Also in 2011 co-founded Analogue Social and has since helped to organise many design related events. David designs furniture from his studio in South Block, finding inspiration in the natural world, photography and Space.

Flux Laser & CNC Studio:

Flux Laser & CNC Studio is a specialist Laser & CNC cutting and Engraving service for the Creative Industries. Founded in 2012, their client-orientated service works across a range of disciplines from fine art, architectural model making,  jewellery, furniture and much more; based in Glasgow’s creative hub, The Whisky Bond.
