Design in Motion is our first national touring exhibition. It features seven of Scotland’s most exciting contemporary designers – Sophia George, Lynne MacLachlan, Geoffrey Mann, Sara Robertson & Sarah Taylor, Digital Design Studio, Anarkik 3D and Holly Fulton.
Using digital as a tool to enable them to experiment, play and innovate, they are pushing the boundaries of their discipline, making extraordinary creations that wouldn’t previously have been possible. Design in Motion will be touring to over 70 locations across the country and will be at The Lighthouse, Glasgow on Thursday 21 May 2015.
We've programmed a series of free early evening events open to students/teachers/lecturers & the general public.
The Glasgow event - Architecture in Motion is on Thursday 21 May, 6 - 8pm at The Lighthouse.
Dr Stuart Jeffrey, from Digital Design Studio will discuss how they have found a way to record historic sites in unimaginable detail. Their laser scanner measures millions of points in a ‘point cloud’ with accuracy beyond any previously available technology. Join them as they explore the incredible world of real-time 3D capture, 3D sound, modelling, motion capture and animation.
You can also hear more about and try our Design Scotland app created by Dundee based developers, eeGeo. And of course you can check out the Design in Motion exhibition too, with time for a drink and a natter afterwards.
