Visit / Exhibitions / The Big Banner Project Exhibition

The Big Banner Project Exhibition 07 Oct 2017 – 05 Nov
Mackintosh Interpretation Centre

This exhibition will feature ten life-size linen banners in the Mackintosh Style made by the public over a period of 4 weeks as part of the Mackintosh Festival 2017.

The banners will be created at stencilling artist Elisabeth Viguie-Culshaw's free drop-in workshops in Glasgow, Helensburgh and Dysart. One banner from each workshop will then be displayed here at The Lighthouse on Level Three, just outside our Mackintosh Interpretation Centre.

They are recreations of a stencilled banner designed for The Willow Tea Rooms in 1904 and will give a feel for what the Tea-rooms “back room” looked like when first opened to the public in the 1900’s.

The Big Banner Project Workshop takes place here at The Lighthouse on Saturday 7th October, find out more here.

For details of all drop-in workshops during the month of October click here.
