Occupied Territory 02 Aug 2018 – 02 Sep
Long Gallery

It is 2038, and the world has been experiencing a series of ecological crises, “Occupied Territory” takes a bleakly humorous glimpse into that future. Scotland’s economy has collapsed. The Highlands are a surreal mixture of barter economies, mythical beasts and tyre-worshipping tourists.

Artist Kate McMorrine’s work catalogues the biologically berserk people, flora and fauna that inhabit and thrive inside half-remembered nightmares.  Photographer Alastair Jackson enjoys making images hidden from the normal tourist viewpoints They both grew up in the same small village on the Isle of Skye, but strenuously deny each other’s existence
