Our first Show Studio residents will be setting up an office in the review space to research and develop proposals for Quay Gardens on the Clyde. Although furnished with am amphitheatre, public amenities and in the past an outdoor café, today the largely uninhabited space offers little more than a cycle route through and the occasional tourist looking for the river frontage.
icecream architecture will work with in-house MAKLab, students, local enthusiasts and the public to create a series of grass roots events and workshops, including a physical map of the space, to initiate a dialogue regarding the area’s potential.
We are seeking a cross disciplinary team that have a keen interest in the regeneration of the Glasgow riverside to contribute to this project. You will be involved in workshops, design exercises, debate and events. Volunteers will be asked to propose how much or how little time they can dedicate to the project. The working hours will be 10 – 4 pm.
