Knitting Yarns
20 October 2012
12 - 4pm
An afternoon of films, tea and knitting hosted by textile artist Deirdre Nelson. Deirdre will present the Bird Yarns project and explain how it helps raise awareness about climate change. She has selected a couple of short films on knitting. Sandwiched between a double-bill matinee will be a delicious afternoon tea, provided by The Lighthouse’s Doocot Café. Bring along your knitting projects and enjoy swapping ideas with other knitters. All skills levels welcome, although some experience will be helpful.
Bird Yarns is an ongoing exhibition of 90 handmade Arctic Terns, that are travelling around Scotland raising awareness of our changing climate, and in October roosting in Levels 5 and 6 of The Lighthouse.
Supported by Luminate: Scotland’s creative ageing festival Cape Farewell's Sea Change Project.
