Guest speakers include Professor Fiona McLachlan from the University of Edinburgh, Antonie Malinowski and Morag Myerscough. There will also be a guided tour of the Colour Strategies in Architecture exhibition.

2.00 Antoni Malinowski - Materiality of Colour
Antoni Malinowski is an artist who works with pigment, light, movement and time, investigating the dynamic relationship that exists between pictorial and architectural spaces. Collaborations and permanent installations with architects Haworth Tompkins including the Everyman Theatre, Liverpool, RIBA Stirling Prize 2014; Bolles + Wilson, Luxor Theatre, Rotterdam; and Rafael Viñoly, Mathematical Institute, Oxford, 2015. An-toni teaches the Materiality of Colour course at the AA, London, and is founder of the research group Saturated Space.
2.50 Morag Myerscough
Designer/Artist, founder of Studio Myerscough, and member of Supergroup. Morag’s work is characterised by an engaging boldness, creating specific, local responses to each distinct audience that will see and experience the design, using it to create community and build identity. Long-term collaborator with architects AHMM including RIBA Stirling Prize Burntwood School 2015. Other notable projects include Movement Café, The Temple of Agape and The Royal London Hospital.
4.10 Professor Fiona McLachlan - Ethereal Material: Colour Strategies in Architecture
Architect and Professor of Architectural Practice at the University of Edinburgh, author of Architectural Colour in the Professional Palette (2012) and co-author of Colour Strategies in Architecture (2015) book and exhibition, with art historians at the Haus der Farbe, Zurich and Berlin. Her practice, E & F McLachlan Architects has completed a number of social housing and residential projects, using colour to define and articulate elements and form.
5.00 Drinks and tour of Colour Strategies in Architecture exhibition
Colour Strategies in Architecture explores the potential of colour to modify space and the way in which buildings are perceived. Drawing on examples from the 20th and 21st centuries, ranging from architectural icons to hidden gems.
