Space, Time, Place and Occasion 08 Aug 2015 – 01 Oct
Level 4 - Circulation Space

“Whatever space and time mean, place and occasion mean more.” Aldo van Eyck

This exhibition features selected work by five Year 5 PGDip/MArch Students from the Department of Architecture, University of Strathclyde which are intrinsically linked to the concepts of Critical Regionalism explored in the Glen Murcutt exhibition in Gallery One.

The Department of Architecture at Strathclyde University has a longstanding and important history of engagement with issues of real concern to society and the city. This profile is cultivated across the school, through the engagement of staff and students with real clients, teaching and research. Year 5 is the culmination of this ethos, where students consider a Critical Regionalism which always assumes that there is more to architecture than just architecture. The University has four priority themes for research, two of which are Future Cities and Health. The three proposals exhibited engage with these themes more or less directly.
