The Lighthouse

Edwin Pickstone, Artist in Residence at The Glasgow School of Art, will set up a functioning letterpress printshop in the Review Gallery for the duration of this exhibition. Featuring a printing press, metal and wood type frames and ink cabinet, Pickstone will demonstrate the letterpress process by producing a series of prints during the run of the show. The exhibition will grow as the weeks progress and culminate in a special closing event where the prints can be purchased.

As Artist in Residence and Typography Technician at The Glasgow School of Art, Pickstone cares for the school’s collection of letterpress printing equipment. Focusing on the material nature of print, he uses letterpress equipment in his own work as well as collaborating with artists and designers on a wide range of projects.
