Larbert Loch Design Competition Exhibition
26 Jul 2013 – 02 Oct
Sust. Gallery - Level 2
In 2012 Architecture and Design Scotland, NHS Forth Valley and the Forestry Commission Scotland collaborated on the Larbert Loch Design Competition. This limited design competition for small and emerging design practices was aimed at creating a permanent viewing platform at Forth Valley Royal Hospital - a destination for the enjoyment of patients, staff and visitors to this landmark site.
The judging panel was delighted by the number of entries submitted and from the 31 stage one entries, five projects were shortlisted for further design development. The competition sought to showcase the potential of locally sourced materials while also creating a destination that would provide access to the loch side and that staff, patients and the local population could enjoy.
This touring exhibition presents the long list of competition entries, the development of the five shortlisted projects and finally showcases the winning design.
The exhibition was previously shown in Forth Valley Hospital from April - June 2013.
