Sanquhar by Jennifer Kent 01 Dec 2016 – 05 Feb
Review Gallery

Jennifer Kent is a knitwear designer based in Glasgow, Scotland. Inspired by the heritage, integrity and expertise found within the Scottish textile industry, she is particularly interested in the interface between traditional methods and modern textile design.

For this exhibition called Sanquhar, Jennifer will present work developed during a recent residency at Cove Park. Her research into the traditional geometric designs of Sanquhar knitting patterns underpins a new collection of fashion and interior products. All pieces are manufactured in Scotland, the result of collaborations with knitters based in Sanquhar and Shetland.

Jennifer graduated from Glasgow School of Art with a degree in Textile Design (2008) and a Masters in Textiles as Fashion (2010). She worked in New York and London before returning to Scotland in 2013 to launch Edition Scotland, a luxury cashmere accessories brand for men.
