Briggs & Cole is a new product design/art partnership formed in 2011 and specialising in limited edition furniture. Their statement products intricately weave material, cultural story and placement within interior environments. Jane Briggs and Christy Cole – bring together a comprehensive range of skills and experiences. Both are motivated by the aim of creating a visionary brand that defines itself as International, by virtue of being capable of manufacturing local products to the highest standard of quality.
Their furniture weaves a complex narrative that incorporates historic production methods indigenous to the UK in their make up. The imagery printed on the glass panel tables tells a different story based on collected glass negatives regaling and relating anonymous social history, nearly forgotten in dusty boxes in auction house lockups. For the Review Gallery Briggs & Cole will present their products in the context of their fabrication and concept.
