We have listed some frequently asked questions about conferences and events at The Lighthouse. If your topic isn’t covered here then please get in touch with our events team who will be sure to help you.
Do you have on-site parking?
There is no on-site parking at The Lighthouse. However we do have an agreement with the nearby Q-Park carpark on Howard street and the NCP on Mitchell Street for reduced rates, please ask our events team for the most up to date tariff and tickets. Our location in Glasgow city centre means we benefit from great transport links – we are less than a 5 minute walk from both Glasgow Central and Glasgow Queen Street train stations. Buchanan Street and St Enoch Centre Subway stations are nearby too.
We do have a private loading bay where you can drop off and pick up supplies for your event, this is suitable for HGV’s.
Do you have a goods lift?
We have a large goods lift that accesses all floors of the building, with the exception of the viewing platform. We also have a pallet truck and wheeled cages to help you transport any equipment should you require it.
Do you allow early access?
If you need early access for your event this can normally be arranged though may be subject to an extra charge. Please discuss with our events team at the time of booking. If you require access to the room prior to the event, for example, to measure up for materials or familiarise a speaker with the layout then please let our events team know and we will do our best to facilitate this.
Can you recommend hotels in the area?
Our events team will be happy to advise on nearby hotels. The Lighthouse also has special rates for delegates with various hotels in Glasgow. Please contact us for details.
Can we bring our own catering?
You cannot bring your own catering to an event at The Lighthouse. Our caterers are located on site and offer a variety of options. If you are looking for something that isn’t already on our menus then please let us know, our catering team are flexible and can work with you to suit all tastes, budgets, themes and dietary requirements.
Do you offer a commission for agents?
Yes, we do offer a commission for agents. Please get in touch to discuss.
Can we have a bar at our event?
Yes, The Lighthouse can provide a bar for your event. Our team are able to help you choose the most suitable option to suit the style of the event and the number of people. If you have any special requests such as cocktails or specific brands please let us know and our caterers will do their best to provide this. Please note all alcohol must be served by us, if you would like to bring your own alcohol then we can arrange to serve this – a corkage charge will apply.
Can you organise a late license for the bar?
We may be able to organise a late license for the bar. Please discuss this with us at the time of booking.
Do you offer evening hire?
The Lighthouse is available for evening hire subject to availability. Evening hire is chargeable per hour, with the charge applicable from 5.00pm onwards. Please note that we no longer host private parties, however, corporate events, workshops, screenings, dinners and meetings can be arranged.
Can I have a public event?
Yes, The Lighthouse is a public building with our own programme of events and exhibitions. You are welcome to have an event such as an exhibition, screening or workshop as long as the maximum number of people attending does not exceed the capacity of the room. Any exhibition would have to be approved by our panel. The exhibitions panel sits quarterly so we advise any enquiries of this type be submitted at the earliest opportunity.
