Design Medal Exhibition 2007
An opportunity to see work by a new generation of design talent, the annual Glasgow 1999 Design Medal is a platform for designers studying at Glasgow’s Higher and Further Education institutions.
Designs on show in the accompanying exhibition include jewellery, textile fashion and product design as well as engineering. The 5th Glasgow 1999 Design Medal is presented to a student whose work consistently shows a high level of creativity, imagination and originality.
The 2008 winner is Gavin Armstrong, a Product Design Engineering graduate of The Glasgow School of Art, won for his Swath Inverter, a design that addresses the need to reduce the drying time of swath (cut hay) before it is baled.
