Bringing together leaders in industry, academia and design.
As part of The Lighthouse Swiss Season this talk, chaired by Muriel Gray, brings together professionals in the field of industrial design, manufacturing and education from Switzerland and Scotland.
Book your place at this important event for your chance to exchange views and ideas at a crucial time for design education and industry. The debate will cover the nature of collaborations between design schools and industry, the challenges from emerging economies and the economic downturn as well as the design profession’s evolving role and skills requirements.
The prestigious art and design school ECAL will be presented as a case study highlighting Switzerland’s success in retaining its young talent by forging strong links with industry. Can Scotland do the same?
Guest speakers will be representatives from industry, education and the creative sector in Scotland and Switzerland.
Pierre Keller, Director of ECAL, Matteo Gonet, Craig Whittet, Programme leader, Product design, Glasgow School of Art and Peter Inglis, Head of research and Development, Aircraft Medical.
The speakers will then be joined by Damien Smith, Director, ISO and Augustin Scott de Martinville, BIG-GAME for a panel discussion.
