Create / Events & Workshops / RISOTTO x Wobby Club Workshop

RISOTTO x Wobby Club Workshop Gallery One
23 or 26 April 2018
10am - 5pm

About Wobby Club

Wobby.club is a collaboration of visual artists Jeroen de Leijer, Marjolein Schalk and Steppie Lloyd Trumpstein from the Netherlands. They print and publish an independent risograph magazine Wobby, four times a year, with varying guest artists. They also publish books and prints commissioned editions. They regularly organise events that bring artists and the public together, and for one week only they will be joining us in Glasgow for two special zine workshops!

About the Workshop

This workshop will be structured like an issue of Wobby itself, where a group of 10 participants will collectively work (using analogue processes) to illustrate a zine on a given theme. In the afternoon, we will print and bind the edition, and everyone will leave with a handful of new zines to keep, distribute or sell. Zine themes to be confirmed!

Workshop Outcome: 24pp, 2-colour zine. Edition of 120 (10 each)

Audience: Self-publishers, illustrators and artists who are interested in learning how to make zines, create artwork for Riso, and have the opportunity to collaborate with others.

Level: No riso experience required, but prior knowledge of either riso or screen-printing process would be preferable. Participants should be prepared to work illustratively, with both pen + paper.

Materials: We will have a mix of mark making materials, but if you have favourite drawing materials, please bring them with you. Laptop (just incase!) Reference material is welcome: Books, textures, pictures, drawing, reference about theme (TBC).

Booking

This workshop costs £75 per participant. Book in advance via the RISOTTO website here
