Join us at 5.30pm on Monday the 12th March for a talk to accompany the exhibition, “Facsimilization”, which features a re-worked 1965 mural for a private home by Alasdair Gray.
Speakers on the night will include project coordinator Roger Farnham, artist Lin Chau and author and artist Alasdair Gray.
Roger Farnham is an engineer, photographer and printmaker who has known Gray for over thirty years, and who just happens to live next door the mural completed in 1965. He will detail the history of the mural and an overview of the project.
Lin Chau is a visual artist who worked closely with Gray on the Hillhead Subway station mural of Glasgow’s west end.
She will talk about how she worked with Gray to translate his changes to the original work. Alasdair Gray will close the evening by taking questions on the reworking of the artwork and the poems within it.
This talk is free but ticketed. Please reserve your place here.
