Travel Grants Available

Glasgow City Council, in partnership with The Lighthouse, are offering eligible, Glasgow-based companies the opportunity to visit the prestigious Venice Architecture Biennale.

A travel and accommodation grant of up to £350 will be offered per eligible company.

The Biennale is the highlight of the architecture and design calendar and attracts renowned architects from all over the world.  For more information on all the events taking place during the Biennale and venues, visit the exhibition website on: www.labiennale.org/en/architecture

This will be the 11th year of the Architectural Biennale and will attract over 130,000 visitors to the numerous exhibits, as well as global institutions and architects.

The Lighthouse will present A Gathering Space, Scotland’s first stand alone presence, which will be located opposite the famous Santa Lucia train station in the heart of Venice.  The structure will be in place for a month and will attract visitors from all areas of the design spectrum including architects, academics, and design professionals as well as visitors to the city, and will be a showcase for Scottish design and architecture.

An events programme organised by The Lighthouse will profile numerous Scottish and international architectural practices and A Gathering Space will play host to these key contacts, as well as a major venue for presentations and lectures during the preview days of the Biennale 11-13 September.

One grant per company will be offered.
