To celebrate outstanding design The Lighthouse Shop is hosting, until Christmas, a monthly promotion of classic designs from the internationally renowned Vitra design house.

Each month we'll be giving away a different Vitra product. In October win a limited edition Red Eames Plastic Side Chair retail price £187.20.

2. Enter the name of each product and its designer in the space provided, together with your contact details (the five Vitra products pictured can all be found in the shop on the first floor of The Lighthouse)
3. Deposit your completed entry in the Competition Box situated at the till in The Lighthouse Shop on the 1st floor by 31 Oct 08.

Eames Plastic Side Chair

Charles & Ray Eames, 1950

Eames Plastic Side Chair is a contemporary version of the legendary Fiberglass Chair. It was produced in collaboration with Zenith Plastics for the Museum of Modern Art in New York's Low-Cost Furniture Design Competition and was the first industrially manufactured plastic chair.

Competition terms and conditions

1. To enter the competition you must be resident in the United Kingdom. You must not be an employee of The doocot, The Lighthouse or Vitra, or any member of any such person's family.
2. To enter the competition, completed official postcards must be deposited in the official box in The Lighthouse Shop by the stated closing date.
3. The prize is the model and colour stated and is not transferable and cannot be substituted for a cash alternative.
4. The prize must be collected from The Lighthouse Shop within 6 weeks of notification. Any prize not collected within 6 weeks will be reallocated.  Delivery can be arranged for a charge.
5. The winner will be the first correct answer selected at random by The Lighthouse Shop from those entries received before the closing date. This decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
6. Only the winning applicant will be contacted by The Lighthouse Shop
7. The winner's name will be mentioned on this website after the closing date of the competition.
8. No purchase necessary.
