Building Tours

Our building tour is a chance to learn more about The Lighthouse, the former Glasgow Herald Building and Charles Rennie Mackintosh's first public commission, and its unique qualities. Whether you are an education group looking for a 'behind the scenes' building experience or a visitor wanting to discover more about Mackintosh our tours are the perfect way to gain an insiders guide to The Lighthouse. Saturday Summer Walking Tours - Sorry these are now finished for the year but will be run again in May-Sep 09.

Learn more about the history and architectural highlights of city centre Glasgow with our summer walking tours. Tours last approximately an hour and take in the sites of the city centre square mile. Choose from two tours:

  • Art Nouveau Architecture: This tour will take you from The Lighthouse to the Glasgow School of Art exploring Glasgow's Art Nouveau buildings and style on route.
  • Merchant City: Starting from The Lighthouse be guided through the Merchant City and learn about the history and features of one of Glasgow's most intriguing districts.

Prices:
Adult Tour Ticket - £7 (£7.70 with gift aid)
Concession Tour Ticket - £5

Mackintosh Art Nouveau Architecture - 11am Saturdays only, May - Sep
