Bring Your Own Beamer Call Out! Theme: Architecture 09 Jan 2018

Theme: Architecture

Calling all designers, filmmakers, artists and experimenters!
The Lighthouse will be hosting our very own BYOB: Bring Your Own Beamer (Projector) with the theme Architecture! We are looking for people to create projections and works responding to architecture in all forms. The criteria is very open but do not be afraid to be ambitious!

BYOB was created by the artist Raphaël Rozendaal in 2010 as a DIY open source, non-commercial exhibition idea. Since then over 350 exhibitions all of the world have taken the idea and created their own exciting events. This will be the third time it has been held in Glasgow.

The Lighthouse will be kicking off 2018 by opening up Gallery 1, our largest space, for 2 weeks (19th January – 2nd February 2018). We encourage designers, architects, artists, and filmmakers to submit films and bring along their equipment to show off their films. Sound designers, light designers and performers are also actively encouraged to submit work. Participants can either stay for a day or show their film for the whole 2 weeks! This will be The Lighthouse’s first exhibition of this kind! Get involved!

The gallery and the exhibition will be open to the public for these two weeks 10:30-17:00 Mon-Sat, 12:00-17:00 Sun.

Please submit your information (more details below). The Lighthouse exhibition team will be on hand to help with any installation (where applicable) and technical support.

- A single film. A single sound and/or light installation. Can a complete work or a work in progress!
- Projector or screen to play the film
- Speakers or headphones if there’s sound that is needed
- Extension lead if possible.
- Any installation please confirm details beforehand with the exhibitions team.
- Finally! Name and information on the film or artist with an image that can be shared through social media outlets.
