New Pop-Up Department Store: The I.D Store 04 Apr 2017

Introducing the preview of The I.D. Pop-Up Store Logo! (Created by Gretchen Miller & Alex Toms).

The Lighthouse and Granny Would Be Proud are coming together to bring you The I.D. Pop-up Department Store, Glasgow's first Independent Pop-Up Department Store!

The new alternative pop-up marketplace of the High Street, where creatives of all different backgrounds gather to provide that unique cultural and shopping experience within one of Scotland’s most important design centres alongside  Granny Would Be Proud market lovers.

The I.D. Store will be a weekend takeover of the five floors of The Lighthouse.

Ground floor: Jewellers offering new designs and methods of making.

First floor: Home interior designers will have the space to recreate their ideal home. This space has been planned to create a homely environment for customers to get an idea of how these products will work in their personal spaces.

Second floor: Boutique for fashion designers. Here customers will be able to meet the designers and be inspired, seeing the pieces on offer either displayed on mannequins or rails, nd try on pieces in the prepared changing room.

Third floor: Children's department. Here there will be room for products that engage and delight our younger customers. This can be anything from toys and colouring books to clothes and wearable items for the pre- adolescent audience.

Fourth-floor corridor: Fashion conscious male customers - a certain demography lacking presence in markets. We are looking to make this area a space where customers can expect to see male particularly styled clothes, accessories, beard oils and distractions for the man kind. On this floor we will also have our Design, Vintage and Craft Market Place.

Fifth floor: Although reserved for the cafe, we would like to include for sale pre-wrapped food items here. Traders offering food for the eyes, nose and tongue, yum! Chocolates, pastries and producers of savoury goods are encouraged to bring tasters and sell their food to be taken away.

Applications are now live and open here

Dates The I.D. Store will be at The Lighthouse are as follows:

15th & 16th July
16th & 17th September
2nd & 3rd December

9th & 10th December
16th & 17th December

Videographers Wanted!

Alongside the unique alternative shopping experience, there will be video screens throughout the building that Granny Will Be Proud will use to display short films portraying a selection of designers, makers and traders.

If you are interested in working alongside Granny Would Be Proud on this project then read their PDF document here which includes the brief, you can then apply through the link at the end of the brief.
