EMPOWERMENT explores the potential of the process of building to affect social change in the developing world. The exhibition tells the stories and introduces the characters involved in the construction projects of humanitarian design organisation, Orkidstudio.
Orkidstudio aims to serve those in some of the world’s most populous countries, where architectural input is vastly absent, and considers architecture as a process, not a product. A process which empowers and enables people and their communities.
The exhibition will be supported by a series of events, lectures and workshops, which open up critical debate and discussion surrounding building, and it’s impact in some of the most deprived and challenging contexts.
