Live Music at Lighthouse Late 27 May 2015

With only 2 days until our Lighthouse Late event we are really excited! We have a fantastic line-up of live music, fashion designers, short films, workshops and more. Here is what you can expect on the night from our live music performances:

8:00pm, Level 5: Man of Moon

Man of Moon are a two piece alternative project from Edinburgh who came together in the later months of 2012, inspired by the likes of She Keeps Bees, Pink Floyd, Jeff Buckley and Polica. They have gained support and airplay on BBC Introducing, Radio Scotland and XFM.

8:15pm, Level 1: KLOË

Glasgow based KLOË, hotly tipped by many was playlisted on BBC Radio 1 by the BBC Introducing with her song 'Feel' in recent weeks. Her first single ‘Grip’ was released last December and created plenty of buzz in the process. The track, produced by Prides’ drummer Lewis Gardiner, raced to 60,000 hits on Soundcloud (where it debuted) and scored radio plays from the likes of Zane Lowe.

9:00pm, Kill the Waves: Level 5

Kill The Waves are a Glasgow based quintet who make dreamy, experimental pop music that combines glitchy electronic beats with driving bass lines, post-rock-esque guitar effects and atmospheric strings. There’s a depth to the band’s compositions rarely seen on a full length debut, boasting immaculately arranged strings, synths and guitars which are all held together neatly by Tim Kwant’s impressive vocals as he jumps between octaves with ease.

9:15pm, Prides: Level 1

Prides are a Scottish band formed in Glasgow in 2013. In August 2014 alone, Prides played the Commonwealth Games closing ceremony to 7.5 million people on BBC1, supported Blink-182 at Brixton Academy, headlined the BBC Introducing Stage at Reading And Leeds Festival and announced their first headline tour in October 2014 at traditional indie circuit venues they’ve already outgrown. Expect a stripped-back set from the Glasgow trio, who are rising stars of the synthpop scene.
