Talk : Cross Laminated Timber – A UK Perspective Workshop (Level 2)
29 August 2014
1.00 - 2.00pm

Does a timber technology used in the Commonwealth Games Athletes Village have potential as a growth industry in Scotland? David Crawford of the Centre for Offsite Construction and Innovation Structures (COSIS) will talk about Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT)  an innovative wood product, which can be used for almost all superstructure elements. This talk uses the Building a Legacy Exhibition of the Athlete's Village at The Lighthouse as a backdrop to present progress on manufacturing CLT from Scottish Timber in Scotland.  The event will be of interest to construction professionals and contractors with an interest in new timber technologies, offsite construction, modern methods of construction and innovation in construction.
